A few weeks ago, I met an interesting fellow who had just launched this community language-exchange website that I thought was pretty neat. Called Busuu, it is named after the language Busuu — which is spoken in Cameroon by only 8 people.
Other than language exchange, they also want to work towards the preservation of nearly extinct languages. The Silbo Gomero is one such language, and they are making effort to teach it on their website. I reviewed the site recently on Gadling, you can check it out here.
They’re still in Beta, but worth stopping by if you are interested in language study.
